The dates and the historic events are based on real ones but have been adapted for game play reasons.
The German vehicles featured in several missions from the European theater are the SDKFZ 231, Truck L3000, Kübelwagen, PanzerKampfwagen and a Tiger I tank. The Pacific theater features Japanese Type 94 trucks and a Type 97 Chi-Ha tank, which is AI and cannot be commandeered.
The American soldiers in the game are equipped with Lee-Enfield rifles, which were actually used by British and Commonwealth troops. The standard service rifle of the United States Armed Forces was the M1 Garand.
The submarine bunkers at La Pallice in La Rochelle, had more than three hangars. However, the game only shows one.
The giant Buddhist statue in the Burma mission is actually located in a temple in Kyoto, Japan.
The mission The Bridge on the River Kwai is based on the movie of the same name, and it involves the rescue of Colonel Guinness, who is based on Colonel Nicholson, portrayed by actor Alec Guinness in the movie. The mission also involves destroying the bridge, which looks very similar to the one seen in the movie.
The Japanese patrol boat moored at Savo Island is actually a PBR (Patrol Boat, River) used by the US Navy. It saw action in the Vietnam War from March 1966 until the end of 1971.
